Smile AgainIts Time to smile Again

How would you describe a beautiful smile? Is a pleasing smile, like beauty, only in the eyes of the beholder? Not at all. Creating a pleasing and beautiful smile is a delicate combination of science and art. Just as a beautifully architected building cannot ignore the stresses of gravity and nature; a beautifully architected smile can not ignore the stress of how the teeth come together (this is known as “occlusion”).

Dr. Cook has studied and invested in the science of occlusion to ensure your smile can lasDr. Zahra Cookt a lifetime. The study of occlusion concerns itself with more then just the teeth. Along with the teeth, the facial muscles and the temporal mandibular joint are also equally important in the science of occlusion. A beautiful and healthy smile are much more then just teeth, it requires a balanced and harmonious relationship of the occlusion, facial muscles, and the temporal mandibular joint. Collectively this area of dental medicine is known as Neuromuscular Dentistry. This is a specialized area of dentistry that less then 1% of all dentists have been trained.

Dr. Cook is a general dentist who has trained in many aspects of advanced dentistry, including neuromuscular dentistry, implant surgery, endodontics, and orthodontics. Dr. Cook’s broad knowledge and skill set in the many disciplines of dentistry allow her to understand the “big picture” and how all these areas can come together to create a healthy and beautiful smile.
